In case you missed it...BBS Recap

BBS#1 Matthew 5:1-12
In King Jesus' inaugurating address, known as the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus declares truth about His Kingdom. This is King Jesus' decree concerning the manner in which his subjects are to participate in His Kingdom. Matthew 5 describes how His subjects will participate in the Kingdom both with their present character as well as their future corresponding Kingdom blessing (5:3-12). He also speaks to them about their present calling in a lost world (Matthew 5:13-16). King Jesus describes how the world ought to be, and He turns the world right-side up. Today as subjects of Jesus' Kingdom, let us also live right-side up in a seemingly up-side down world.

BBS#2 Matthew 5:13-16
Disciples are the salt of the earth, the preservative that maintains a level of Kingdom influence in this world. As the world continues to decay, His servants seek to preserve the Kingdom way. They are called to live and call others to live according to the Kingdom way.

Disciples are to be the light of the world and stand for the things of the Kingdom. It means that the disciples represent the Kingdom and shine that to the world. They shine Jesus. Spiritually, we are to offer a taste of what the true Light of the World will bring. This is not ONLY an individual exercise, but something that the saints do together. We ourselves are God’s conduits bringing illumination of the Kingdom to a darkened world.

As disciples we are salt and light, not being salty or bright is not an option.
